FAQs

  • Not only do we find it extremely important to nourish your skin with skincare that is non-toxic and does not contain any hormone disruptors every day, but we find it especially important to do so during and after having any type of facial procedures (micro-needling and lasers in particular). These procedures cause your cells to work to repair the damage to pigment, tissue, and/or blood vessels, and afterwards it is vital to nourish your skin with holistic skincare rather than with “medical grade skincare” filled with chemicals, toxins, and hormone disrupters. At Glow with Leah, we do just this. As we reset the skin microbiome using Sciton’s advanced technology and techniques taught by the "Godfather of Light” himself (Dr. Patrick Bitter), we then encourage the use of the purest skincare rooted in nature to create an undeniable glow that only gets better with time!

  • BBL is the most powerful intense pulse light on the market. Sciton's BBL HERO (High Energy Rapid Output) is the newest, safest technology that produces more consistent, reproducible, faster, and better results. Skin is smoother, younger, clearer, and healthier. According to a study at Stanford University, continuous BBL HERO procedures actually change the gene expression of older skin cells to resemble young skin. So BBL HERO actually provides a functional change of the skin rather than just a cosmetic mimic of a more youthful appearance.

  • YES! The 1927nm laser within the Moxi handpiece targets water, which means it can treat ALL skin types, year-round with little downtime.

  • YES! While there is no cure for melasma, Moxi is the only laser proven to safely treat and improve melasma!

  • Hormone disrupters are in most personal care products, including clean, non-toxic care products. After extensive research, I’ve discovered the things you put on your body every day that you think are healthy and clean are not truly healthy. I’ve come to realize there’s no definition for clean and clean does not equal safe. Our skin is our largest organ and it absorbs much of what it comes in contact with. Women, on average, put 168 chemicals on their skin everyday. Men, on average, put 85 chemicals on their skin everyday. This statistic itself is alarming! Hormone disrupters and carcinogens are tied to infertility, cancer, autoimmune disease, autism, parkinson’s disease, asthma, allergies, alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, headaches, and chronic inflammatory diseases to name a few.

Personal care products in the United States are outdated and dangerous. According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), the Food and Drug Administration doesn’t require basic safety testing of ingredients in personal care products before they’re used. Unfortunately toxic chemicals and hormone disrupters in our skincare products, sunscreens, and cosmetics continue to be unregulated.

If you're looking to make toxin free living as easy as possible, I recommend downloading the EWG app and the Yuka app. These are extremely good resources to see what is actually in the skincare products you are using. And don't worry, I'm also here to help! I carry products that I have extensively researched and continue to use that are free of any and all toxins and hormone disrupters.

  • BBL HERO can be performed on nearly any body part. However, the most common areas in which patients accrue sun damage are the most popular areas for treatment: the face, neck, chest, shoulders, back, arms, legs and the back of hands.
